In the Fall of 2005, Pikes Peak International Raceway was purchased by the International Speedway Corporation which closed the facility at the end of the 2005 season. Area fans must now travel about 585 miles to the nearest major track, Kansas Speedway in Kansas City.

The green flag is once again flying over Pikes Peak International Raceway three years after its closing and is now host to regional racing leagues such as this National Auto Sport Association amateur sports car race Labor Day Weekend 2008. Visit www.ppir.com for their schedule of upcoming events.
